At the end of a long night of partying in the city I see her. She is worn down with abuse inflicted on her from her possessive boyfriend.
He's afraid of losing her, she who is strong, bold, courageous. He constructs his prison of words out of the damaged recesses of his mind, in an attempt to trap her in guilt, fear and shame.
Briefly, I catch her alone, before her boyfriend returns to take her home. It seems a long shot but I try it anyway. "You can come and stay at ours this eve if you like."
She agrees and quickly we leave to go and meet my dad who is waiting in the car.
It's about 5 in the morning. The sun is about to come up and the world wake to another day of grind.
My dad picks us up, but then I need to collect my other car which is hard to find
I get lost in this underground apartment shopping mall. There are lifts everywhere. It's very futuristic.
Finally we get back to my parents place. But where is the girl? The kitchen has been redecorated, everything has been painted with primary colours, bright reds blues and yellows. There are some stairs that go up from the kitchen to another room. The colours signify childhood, the early years, like a nursery for toddlers.
