johns back garden
I'm in johns old back garden. It feels like the house is abandoned. Me
and john decide to try and climb in through the windows. I get to one
of the windows and am about to open it when some figure comes to the
window. I feel frightened. I didn't know there were new owners in the
house.
I quickly leave the property.
-
I'm at a gathering. People have been using the privet hedge as a place
to have a sweatlodge. It was built up out of the hedge.
I leave a musical jam with chartwell, (who gives me a smoke) to have a
sweat. When I get to the constructed lodge the fire is out and a girl
is upset because she is cold and can't get the fire to light. I try to
help and soon have the fire going again. But the fire catches light to
the whole hedge, and also some of the trees surrounding , and soon
there is no structure upon which to construct our sweat lodge.

Hermes and Persephone
I'm at notre dame school.
I'm with simon, we are traveling. I meet his new girl friend.
In the play ground I play lots of ball games to pass the time and to
find something that is less boring and soul destroying. There are lots
of angry people about but provided I'm playing a game everything feels
ok.
I find myself on top of a tall building with a fire. Simon and nick
are gathered around the fire. A young couple come to join us. We talk
about playing role play games. Two more guys come to join.
Nick or Simon sparks up a conversation about mythological characters
that is really interesting. They start talking about Hermes and
Persephone. One of the guys says,
"This is really boring, these characters are long dead. Let's make up
new characters".
I spark up
"I disagree. I think that characters are kept alive by talking about
them. And they evolve to suit the needs of those who play their
roles."
We move into spontaneous theater. One guy begins to play this self
destructive role, because he wants all the attention on him. He is a
depressive.
The girl who has a partner with her plays the role of Persephone, and
she has to try and lure this sacrificer guy from jumping off the
building by getting him to fall in love with her. Her real life
partner has to play the jealous lover role because that's how he's
feeling.
Nick has to play Hermes because Hermes has a very important role to
play and it involves saving the sacrificing roles life.
The sacrificing role, played by this depressive guy, is enacted out as
real. He pretends to not notice that his cloak has caught fire, and
stands on the edge of the building and everyone tells him that his
cloak is on fire. He removes his cloak, on fire, which then lights his
under garments. He has gone into a psychopathic trance. He feels no
pain. Now he is about to jump off the building. Persephone goes over
to him to try to lure him back with her love, but it does not have the
strength to do so. Just as he is about to jump, Hermes steps up, and
picks him up an throws him into a pile of snow.
"Don't waste away your career like that! Remember who you are!"
He picks him up again and throws him like a pile of skin and bones
into a bigger pile of snow which puts out his fire.

summaries
A summary of my last two dreams. -
I'm with my activist friend. She is teaching me how to be an activist
leader. She shows me how peer shadowing is the key way that new skills
are passed on, and how important it is to walk and talk with people,
one to one.
The rebel forces are mounting, and the capitalist corporate machine is
trying to squash the movement.
-
I'm talking to my tracking teacher, I'm telling him how much I like
tracking philosophy and tracking. He tells me that the real secret to
tracking philosophy is learning to not think. Those who can turn off
thinking are the best at getting the philosophy.

The fire festival
I'm reading a book about zen. Its called zen mind beginners mind. I'm
in the park while I'm reading it. It talks about the zen artists, and
which ones got really good at form and traditional zen art work. There
were key periods of time when certain artists excelled in their craft.
I'm lighting a fire in the park, a small one to celebrate one of the
fire festivals. I have to put my book down to control the fire.
Everything is so dry that things are catching fire remarkably easy.
Maria phones me and I have to tell her to ring me back as I'm too busy
controlling this fire and stopping it from spreading.
There is a strong breeze blowing which is causing the flames to spread
really fast. When I eventually get my small fire under control, I meet
my dad. He is talking about growing plants. I ask him what he will be
up to today, and he tells me it is Burns night, so he will be drinking
whiskey and reading poetry.
I thought it was Beltaine (or was it Imbolc) , anyway, there's going
to be a gathering in the park and I go to join the celebraters.
The guy who wrote the zen book has turned up to join in the
celebrations. He turns out to be a tantra master as well as a zen
master. He has made some really beautiful yantra style murals in
bright colors, oranges and reds and golds. He wants me to copy his
drawings, to teach me how to draw in this traditional style. I try to
make a copy of what he has done, but he is very particular about the
spacing between the lines, and getting the forms precise, which I have
not done.
There are 2 guys dressed in costumes who are enacting a battle, one
dressed in red, the other in green, fighting for the hand of the
goddess. The goddess is dressed in white and sits calmly at the side,
watching the two warriors fight it out. (I think It must be
beltaine).
When they reach the finale of their battle, (which will lead to the
victor kissing the goddess!) fire works in the distance over on the
hill of crookes go off. They look very pretty at first. They light up
the sky (even though its day time) and at a certain special timing to
this mythical battle and celebration.
The fire works on the hill get bigger and louder. They seem to be
coming from a tall and wide tree (like a sycamore tree). They get
brighter and brighter and catch fire to the trees next door, along the
horizon. Now everyone has stopped their celebrations to watch the fire
works on the hill. We watch them go out of control.
They spread from tree to tree, getting bigger and bigger, until they
catch fire to the Arts tower. Now the arts tower goes up in flames and
the whole sky fills with black smoke blotting out the sun. Shadows,
ash and explosions fill the air. Everyone retreats to safety in their
houses.
I go back home, and feel safe now I'm inside. I notice that mum has
redecorated the kitchen with bright colours, oranges, golds and reds.
I like it. It feels like it expresses more of how I feel and makes me
feel more comfortable. Fire engines can be heard in the background.
Out side I can see the whole hill side of crookes and walkley is on fire.
-
In a few days, when the fire is out, I go up to the allotments. I meet
paul up there. I see the charred remains of tall trees, stumps and
skeletons remaining. Another lad is heading to the allotments, spade
in hand. Paul runs faster than him. I show paul when I have been
thoroughly digging over a patch of ground.
Time to start all over again.
Noah
I'm with Noah, and we are walking home.
We pass the sweet shops and Noah wants to buy some crisps. We go into
the supermarket and walk down the isle to where the crisps are.
Deciding which crisps to buy is not an easy decision.
I ask Noah which ones he likes. He eventually finds the ones. Its a
multipack of 5 and the whole pack costs £7.
This is really expensive, especially considering that its just some
thinly chopped up potatoes, deep fried.
I ask the shop assistant weather there are any big value packs around.

African Musicians
I'm with john.
We are skateboarding through the park.
We are trying out new routes that we have not tried yet. I try out
this really hard route, which is also quite busy with people walking
on it. Its quite a challenge dodging between the people.
I find my way to this gathering of people. They are Africans. They
have beautiful dark skin. They are youthful, and are related to one
another. They are playing music on pots and pans, and making sound
through improvising on kitchen equipment.
I try to join in with them, but I do not have the experience they have.
We start playing a chasing game, its fun, and it involves pinching the
person who is 'it', somewhere on their bum or legs.

The Ambrosia of LIfe

This couple have come on my course who look after bees. They have
brought in special gourmet foods for everyone to try.
First the guy has brought some extra special home made cheeses, and
then he brings this ceramic pot out, and in the pot is a kind of
fermented raw yogurt with slightly fermented honey from their own
bees. Its the special heather honey that they have used which is
priced so much round sheffield.
This is apparently an old recipe which is symbolic of the land of milk
and honey. It is also the true ambrosia of life: a slightly
intoxicating and powerful aphodisiac which is very health benefiting.
I am very grateful to these people for bringing this in for us to all try.

The Christmas Pilgrimage
Its new moon. We are on a long pilgrimage to an ancient greek temple,
and we will get there on christmas day to celebrate mass.
Its a long journey. It has its hazards. They are mostly social. My
brother gets attacked by angry people who think he is one of the
rebels. He survives fine, just a few bruises. One of his friends has a
bad fall off his bike. We pick him up and nurse him better.
When we finally get to the temple it is beautiful. It is built of
these huge blocks of stone in a circular design, with various
different levels to it.
We think we are the first to arrive, but then we hear the organ
playing. And people are singing too. A group of people have turned up
early to practice music. They are singing a really nice harmony
version of the angel gabriel tune.
The musicians sit at the very top of the temple, where the organ is,
and the sound echoes down as if from heaven.
I go up to meet them all. They are all women who I recognise from a
long time ago; the three ruths, jessica, and others.
They all go down to greet the new arrivals, and I go up to see the
organ. It is a very ancient and beautiful instrument. It plays the
sound through books, and has many many buttons and levers you can
press and pull to manipulate the sound.
All of a sudden mass is going to start and people are expecting me to
play the opening hymn. I am not ready to start at all, and I want one
of the ruths to come back and play it as she knows it really well, but
she has wandered off so I fumble through music, and find the song and
begin playing. But the sound it all wrong. It ought to sound big and
grand but all the noise that comes out is a few gentle flutes.
Allesio savadori is very cross. He thinks I have ruined the mass which
is one of the most important masses of the year. No one is singing
along because it sounds so empty.
I quickly pull some levers. Strange noise comes out now, like a car
horn or an out of tune trumpet. Most of the congregation that have
gathered are looking at me a bit strange now, and allesio is frowning.
Ruth comes back now to take the place of player and I focus on getting
the right sound. I have to move all these books, that are the filters
for the sounds. When I do, sound floods down over the people.

Relationships, Weddings, Animal drawings, and Beach parties.
I'm in a class with these people. We are here to learn about relating
and relationships.
The guy running the class says "most people go wrong in relationships
because they start with wanting the other person to love them. The
place to start is to say "I love you" and give them your love. Through
giving love you will receive love."
-
I'm at a wedding ceremony. The ceremony is being held in a small
little chapel and there are only a few people attending. It goes all
wrong. The choreography of the ritual was not very well communicated
before hand and no one knows what's supposed to be happening. Some
people have already got up and left before the bride has walked down
the isle.
The music is all out of time. I get distracted with something and then
realise that I've missed my cue to start playing. John biggins, the
priest, tries to hold it all together, but its not really working. He
feels that as long as the main bit of the ceremony is performed: the
vows, they will be married and it will all be ok.
-
I'm with some clan members. We are doing improvised drawings on a
wall. I see a spider in one, and a bat in another, and tell my
friends. They remark on them. I also see a pig, and I draw out a bear.
We all start to see different animals in the drawings on the wall.
-
I am out in California at a party on a beach. Its the 70's. I meet
this guy who has built this huge structure out of natural materials,
like bamboo and long twisty branches, and other fibrous plants. Its
like a big beach hut, as well as being very sculptural. Its not
water tight, but it creates much shade which is the main thing needed
out here in the hot sun.

In Search for the Green Man
I'm looking for the Green Man.
I find this little growing space .. There are leeks growing in the
gaps between roof holes, on a sloping roof, near the school. Its a
growing project near st Maries, my primary school.
I see a formula in a Ronald Hutton book, its a decoded secret
message, which talks about how to find the green man. Its to do with
all being one.
I see the green man in the woods near the school. He is talk, strong
and slender. He runs up into the woods like a bird might fly.
I try to follow, but instead I find myself in a class room. There was
music playing in here before, I remember being at the jam, Conor was
here. It was like a hiphop party in celebration of hiphop music.
There is a screen on the wall. Perhaps if I turn it on I might find
more information about the green man.
I find CNN. A strange American pornographic chat show. Its got these
women striping on the camera in front of a huge audience, and they are
showing off their strange bodies: each on of the women on here has
some kind of strange abnormality - a freak show. There is one woman
with unbelievably huge breasts that have mouths at the end and can
talk, another who is with really long legs and a long neck, another
with a very unusual vagina that protrudes out of her groin like a
penis.
These women have all stripped one by one, showing their unusual bodies
while the chat show man flaunts his big penis around deciding which
one he is going to fuck.
The show is call 'Pull the thread'. Its because as the women are
stripping, there is a special thread on the clothing which makes the
clothes fall off easily, revealing the abnormality.
I feel really bad about watching this trashy television. What if my
friends were to come back and find me here watching this? I was meant
to be finding the green man and here I am distracted with this porno
chat show. They would think I was a pervert or something.
I resolve to change the channel.
Echart tolle is on this new channel. He is talking. I hear him say,
"its important to remember that life is suffering. You cannot avoid
suffering in your life, try as you may..."
As his monotone voice continues, more people join me in the room to
listen. This one disabled person comes in a wheelchair and finds a
space in front of the screen.
