The spiritual center by the sacred spring, and the trip to the beach
I've gone on a school trip to this spiritual center. Its in a sacred
place, built around a sacred spring. Its a large center now, with
thousands of people living there, but it started out as simply this
couple who had had a vision of setting something up, upon visits to
the spring. They felt it was a very special site, and it needed
honoring. So, the spring was left as a central feature to the place,
around which all the other buildings were built.
When we arrived we were all shown to our dormitories, and then we went
into a big group room, and we were given a choice as to what we wanted
to learn while we were there. There were lots of different activities
to get involved with; bee keeping, gardening, dancing, art - painting,
as well as graffiti styles, music, cooking... About everything you
would want to do. This spiritual community placed a very great
emphasis on music- there were nice pianos in about every other room,
and group music singing happened all the time.
I ended up chopping and changing what I wanted to do, - bees, music,
art- because there were so many things I wanted to do, and not enough
time to do them all. I met the spiritual founder of the place by the
spring, and had a brief chat with him.
He gave the group a talk about why he had set up the place, and what
his original vision had been ; about his vision to bring people
together in harmony.

I'm now traveling in a car with james and joe, and we are driving to
the beach. The road is getting narrower and narrower. Eventually we
get stuck between these two cliff faces, because a big boulder has
fallen into the road and is blocking the way. We think about moving
it, but instead we get out and walk. We walk along the cliff tops and
get to a place where we can see the beach and the sea.
There is a lot of pollution and rubbish going into the sea via a
little steam that runs down the beach. There is a logging company that
has been removing the pine forests behind the beach, and it is causing
a lot of environmental damage to the beach and surrounding
environment.
Despite our wishes to go down to the beach we decided it would be best
to stay up here on the cliff. It was sad to see all this destruction
of a natural habitat going on.
