The Drug Game

I can't quite remember where this dream starts, but let's start at the
journeying...

I fly down to meet some friends in some woods. We are on a Trackways
course. We are practicing journeying skills without any rattle or
noise, - just closing our eyes, going and coming back. Its quiet a
different skill to traditional journey skills that I have been shown.
It is very useful for emergency situations, and also for survival
situations, where silence and secrecy are key.

Now I am heading back home, and a number of friends are coming back
with me. And when we arrive, there are already a load of friends in my
room, and dotted round the house. They have been having a bit of a
party while I'm away!

I notice that my sculptures are no longer in my room, and then notice
that they have got out all my sculptures out of my room to look at and
not put back. I am glad that they are being appreciated, but a bit
worried about them too!

Now I am up in walkley, and I am involved in a drug investigation.
Here's the story -

My friend Dany has been involved with selling drugs for a number of
years, and the police have slowly been tracking him down. Dany has
been helping out his friends who are penniless, by giving them jobs in
selling drugs, as it is quiet a lucrative business. I bump into one of
Dany's co-workers outside A n L's house, and we chat. He tells me how
Dany is in a very vulnerable situation, and that the police are very
close to tracking him down. The reason why they are so keen to track
him down is because Dany is involved in a long history of drug selling
which goes way back into the past and he knows people who have shifted
huge amounts of drugs for the city of sheffield. Its all a big long
chain, and the police want to catch the big guys behind Dany. Now the
police are getting more advanced technology, and its getting easier
and easier to track drug dealers like Dany.

I go meet Dany, and he shelters in A n L's house and hides some stuff
in there. I show him my herbs and tell him, that maybe he should be
leaving the drug trade before its too late.
"Get out while you can" I tell him. "Besides, there are plenty of
legal drugs that get you high".

He considers my advice, before driving off to north sheffield to visit
his parents.

Now I'm with Ada, and he is telling me about his frustration of having
to go to a doctors appointment before his long trip he has to go on.
Its this constant same story - doctors over prescribing , because its
in there job to give something.

I tell him "you know, I knew a doctor once who used to listen to their
patients, and then say, "well, come back in a week, and if you've not
figured this one out for your self ill give you some medicine"".

It was a reference to the attitude - heal thyself, as so many
illnesses are diet and lifestyle related. And if you are just
constantly patching people up, they are likely to become dependent on
you doing this, and not want to figure it out for them selves.

Now I am in st Ives. I walk out of my door onto the road by the beach,
and I can see the see meeting the cliffs, and I feel the spirit of
Barbara Hepworth move in me and the place. I feel and see the place as
if through her eyes and body. It is very beautiful, and I can see why
she felt this special connection between Yorkshire and here; something
to do with the hard stones, steep cliffs, and mining, and working
life.

Everything is vivid and real, more real than usual. I want to live
here when I am older. I miss being in this place very much.
