three dreams in a night

I meet Richard cutting his St George cauliflowers on St George day! How like Richard! He’s wearing a green and red cap and looking like a little elf! Very magical!

He’s cutting the cauliflower to give to me to taste. I am very impressed at his growing and so to show my respect I pretend to take my hat of to him (im not wearing a hat) and bow. He is clearly pleased at this.

He begins talking about the weather and season and how its been so far; this crop, that crop, how we’ve just pulled through with certain things and how theres more difficulties to come.

As hes talking he’s also picking a few other things for me to try, and he asks if a want some bread. Oo yeah! I’m starving! So he cuts some crusty wholesome looking bread and toasts it and then puts some butter on it for me, which melts into the bread. Perfect!

Its nice being treated this way – toast, fresh cauliflower and salad, and good conversation, just like the good ol’ days!

Now i'm with dad and James. We are walking on a new site that dad has been working on. It’s a large area of recreation ground in north Sheffield. We see a new tennis court that has been done, and many more that are in the process of being made. It was previously a patch of waste land and now its being done up for people to play sports and games. We walk past the tennis place and onto the new golf course that they are landscaping. There are amazing views from here of all round Sheffield; one can see the different valleys stretching away into the distance. Down at the bottom of the first valley is a big reservoir.

Propa Sheffield!

As we walk, we are told by a man with a hard hat on to be careful for flying rocks.
Dad talks to me a James while we walk.
“ I want to talk you out here to look at the rock formations – just look! They are like giant sculptures! Sedimentary sandstone and grit stone boulders that have been worn away by millions of years of time. They stand out against the sky line like massive faces or abstract beings, watching the passing of time.”
We have now walked to an area at the edge of the golf course which has these massive rocks; they are every where. – just like out at Stannage or Burbage, or Higgator.
As we wander further down the hill to the lake, some massive rocks come tumbling down the slope towards us. We can see them coming so have plenty of time to get out of the way. We watch then roll all the way down and into the reservoir at the bottom with a massive splash. Even at this safe distance, it’s a bit scary; these rocks are massive – they have crushed everything in there path. Anyone hit by one of these wouldn’t have a chance, I think to my self…
And another one, even bigger than the last one, a big as a car come crashing down toward us! Splash!

“This corner of sheffield” dad is saying, “is nestled in the countryside, in its own unique micro climate. Its like a pocket inside a pocket. What a great place it would be to live”

I have to agree with him. This is a south facing slope were standing on and there's so much beauty out here….

Im reading Simon's homework with my mind. – Hes writing about English grammar –
“Hows yous ?” –
As opposed to “ how are you?” this shows how people im-personalize their language to make it more personal. The “yous” is suggesting a plural – more than one, so it can sound like your speaking to more than one you – individual – but instead, because the language its self is “incorrect” it helps one feel more addressed in conversation, since its not the conventional way of speaking.

I keep reading things into his homework… he doesn’t know i'm doing it. It seems to jump randomly from one thing to another. I know that hes just saying things to keep the teachers happy. Just like I did when I was at school doing my GCSEs!
